Attic Manager is available for various operating systems. The database file itself is platform-independent, so you can move databases between Windows, Mac or Linux simply by using backup/restore options in the program.

Linux: installation

Due to various libraries used by different Linux distributions, here are multiple builds. The first one has everything built in, but uses older version of C++ library. It should work on RedHat based systems and Slackware:

static build.

If that one doesn't work, try this binary compiled for 32bit Linux Mint 17. It should also work on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. This binary requires that you install system wxWidgets library version 2.8:

Download dynamic build. Before you run it, install wxWidgets library like this:

sudo apt-get install libwxgtk2.8-dev

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64bit build

Download Ubuntu 14.04 64bit build. Before you run it, install wxWidgets library like this:

sudo apt-get install libwxgtk2.8-0

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS 64bit build

Download Ubuntu 16.04 64bit build. This build includes all the needed libraries, so just unpack it and run "./run_attic.sh".

Linux: running the program

The provided .tar.gz files are a simple zipped package. Unpack it to some directory, and run the run-attic.sh script. If you do it from shell, it would go something like this:

tar -xzf attic-3.05-i386.tar.gz
cd attic-3.05-i386

You can run it under a regular user account. You don't need to install it, and you don't need to be root. If you are not root, you might see the following message when starting program:

lock manager: couldn't set uid to superuser

This is just a harmless warning message printed by program's database engine. You may safely ignore it.

In case you have problems starting Attic, please contact us. We can provide custom build for your Linux version.
